Is this what another FOUR YEARS OF DEBBIE AND CONNIE is going to be? CHUCK CERMAK, SAM CISCERO, LAURA RABATTINI, SHANNON FOX, THEA MORRIS, STEVE STILLER: I HAVE A PUBLIC COMMENT/QUESTION FOR YOU:
Is this how you would want to be treated when you were in the audience? Chuck, I know you complained that Trustees couldn't even answer your questions when you were in the audience. Now, you, any of you dare vote for this public comment or shall I say, don't comment or fear removal or other? Um, you mean be arrested? Is that why there are always so many cops in the boardroom instead of on the streets? This town is the worst town in the state. You can blame the bickering or the economy or whatever you want, but look at what you are doing when people show up at meetings and you don't like what they say, you make laws to muffle them.

Mayor Herrmann may also want to designate this new ordinance change as the "Shut Greg Jenkins Up" ordinance.
ReplyDeleteI will be at this meeting to witness the votes by the village board on this issue. Hopefully they will proceed with caution. Ancel Glink may not be able to indemnify them in a federal proceeding.
Mr Jenkins is the new life for Island Lake by standing up and saying that WE'RE NOT GONNA TAKE IT ANYMORE!
I will proudly lock arms with you Mr Jenkins when the braclets of injustice are placed upon your righteous wrists.
Island Lake police officers would be wise to weigh the enforcement of this freedom of speech adjustment to an ordinance. Federal court doesn't look kindly on civil rights violations and officers have been found liable. The mayor is out of control and is seeking advice from a desperate law firm.
Island Lake is well on its way to violating the constitutional rights of the residents at the taxpayer's expense if they attempt to demand silence.
More bad legal advice from A@@hole Stink so that they can litigate. Yummy yummy.
ReplyDeleteThis is yet another desperate act by the captain of a sinking ship. MJM

ReplyDeleteSo, does this mean the trustee and mayor positions are now full time positions? How else can we address the board and the mayor together? Do we need to head to Sideouts or TJ Snickers while they are drinking? I am confused.
You know what, Samantha?
DeleteI don't recall seeing you ever being at ANY meetings lately. Either in the last few months, much less the last few years.
Kind of like all of Herrmie's lastest dupes on her re-election slate. I guess you missed the cut!
And like you, I DO understand why these changes are being made.
It really sucks when those actually attending meetings have to actually, and factually comment, when what our "officials" are spouting in these meetings are actual LIES.
It's too bad when you think that those that actually ARE concerned, that actually ATTEND meetings, can't restrain themselves from voicing the obvious. How sad!
How sad further, that said "Officials" need feel pressured to squelch what little truth there is left.

DeleteYou know what, Sam?
DeleteIt's The Herd that should be ashamed of themselves.
Even a masthead editorial from the Daily Herald advises that it's Herrmann & The Herd that should be ashamed for themselves.
Do you read newspapers?
Do you ever attend a meeting, Sam?
And so - as to what Samantha has posted here, and as to what I've posted below in response to Middle?
Delete>>>> " If your comments in the board room are anything like what you people post here, I understand why the trustees are voting to make these changes. You should all be ashamed of yourselves!
And as I would opine, Sam, WRONG!
We, the "subjects" have been increasingly allowed less and less to no say for years now, and now yet again, under Herrmann; a THIRD lessening of an allowance in the citizen's ability to address the Mayor and the Board. In Public. For the Public Record.
Seems to me? The Mayor and the Board should be ashamed of THEMSELVES.
In the past, those concerned could, and DID; respectfully raise their hands, and would reciprocally and respectfully, be recognized AND be heard.
Now? We no longer have ANY chance to be heard at a time appropriate to influence and inform our Board on the particular items that are up for consideration. All we once required was a respectfully raised hand, and a respectfully noted ability to address.
So Sam, is it no wonder that currently, since there's no respect given meeting attendees any longer, that there's no respect granted the Board, either?
DeleteWe used to be able to raise our hand. Now, we've been reduced to having to raise a lawsuit.
It's not the citizen's fault, Sam.
What exactly are we supposed to be ashamed of? That we rip on an overcharging law firm? That we rip on a mayor who refuses to listen to her constituents?
DeleteIt was made very clear many months ago that the reason they needed our name and address was so someone would get back to us with answers to our questions. Shannon Fox made this very clear at a town hall meeting and to date no one that I know has every received a call, email or letter. Before Shannon Fox was elected one of her complaints was that she could not get answers at a meeting. Chuck Cermak even made a statment when be was running that people wanted answers to their questions. I also agree that Any Trustee who votes for this is not a supporter of the freedoms that this country provides us.
ReplyDeleteTah-Dah!
DeleteEXACTLY, ED!!!!!
And still, no call backs, no facts, no answers!
Debra & Greg?
ReplyDeleteThank God & bless you both for your efforts!
You're the wind beneath our wings, for so many of us tiring warriors!
You are too sweet!
