Most major news media have adapted a form of "known commenting".
Since this is so close to the election, I would like to see the opposing slates and their respective supporters debate issues that will bring positive change to the residents of Island Lake.
Thank you.

Freddy, I like your logic!
ReplyDeleteBe yourself and I will thank you for your support or your criticism. You will deserve it for your honesty. I will do my best to offer mine. We are a small town and I hope we can bring back that small town feel. Lets start here. Dialog is allowed and questions can be answered. Say who you are and lets get down to the details. I'm looking forward to some honest debate.
ReplyDeleteI just noticed that my comment has to be approved. I think that once I have been accepted on this site that my comments should go straight through so that I can respond in a real time fassion with someone else that is on topic with me. I hope that can be made possible. Thank you
ReplyDeleteThis is a new thing for me Mark and I see what you're saying. I'm going to see if I can let comments be posted without review from established bloggers like yourself.
DeleteIt's going to be touch and go until I get it figured out. Thanks for your patience.
Thank you Mr Administrator. I am hoping that members of the two slates will take advantage of this new regulation on comments. Open discussion and debate will let the residents decide who will best serve Island Lake on election day, April 9th.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that the word transparency was mentioned in this post. I would like to relate a comment from Ron E on the village facebook site, it reads:
ReplyDelete"My Grandson and Myself waved at a Charger squad car and I noticed it had mirror tint on side windows, preventing Us from seeing a wave back. The car looks cool, but I don't beleive it lends itself to good relationships with residents. Just my 2 cents."
I of course had to put my 2 cents in also and here it is:
2/24/2013 "Very good question Ron. Maybe Chief McCorkle would like to answer your valid concern. Tinted windows on squad cars are another attempt at NON transparency in government. It seems to be a double standard when the police disobey laws that they are suppose to enforce......with transparency! Get rid of the tint ILPD. We need to see who is getting paid to serve us."
I'd bet that Shannon Fox will find some reason to delete my comment which is why I am posting it here.
I wonder what the thoughts of the candidates are.
Well it didn't take long. My village facebook comment regarding the tinted windows on the squad car has been deleted by dictator Shannon Fox.
DeleteTraitor and dictator kind of go together.
So.... I went ahead and posted this comment on the facebook village site:
Delete"Hey Ron. I heard that the mayor's new hall will also have tinted windows to keep interested eyeballs away."
I keep putting my opinions out there and a government elected official will continue to delete them. Shame on you Trustee Shannon Fox and the mayor who protects you.
I agree. The tinted windows are intimidating when you can not see the officer inside. It does convey a "friendly" atmosphere with the people of town. I believe that unit was purchased used and was a K-9 unit originally. But the tint should come off. Officers should be driving slowly throught our neighborhoods waving and saying hello to resident. This would help build repoir in town.
ReplyDeleteIt does NOT convey
ReplyDeleteSorry about that.
